DAN WANTS TO RESTORE OUR SCHOOLS
Dear community member,
I am running for Middleton-Cross Plains school board Area 5 because I would like to help the district reverse the trends of declining enrollment and declining student test scores, and restore the district.
Teachers today face new classroom challenges in the education of our kids. As parents, we have to be involved to the point where we can identify and bring solutions to these challenges. I would like to represent the parents and taxpayers of the district to be a voice for your concerns.
Sincerely,
Letting teachers teach
I will emphasize that teachers must be allowed to focus on teaching, and should not be overly burdened with excessive administrative requirements.
Eliminate achievement gap
I will support initiatives that ensure no student is left behind.
I will stress that “in-person” schooling is much preferred over virtual models.
I will maximize student success by supporting honors, advanced learning classes and special support for kids at risk.
Classroom safety
I will support school resource officers, who ensure the safety of students and teachers.
Financial responsibility
I will be sure to represent the interests of property tax payers of the district who fund a large portion of the school budget.
I will support school budgets emphasizing money for teachers and curriculum, especially to provide more resources for reading, math, and science curricula.
I will support short and long term fiscal responsibility in regards to new facilities, additions, and renovations.
